A LUCID JOURNEY INTO DREAMS
Fariba Bogzaran
We spend one third of our life sleeping. Every night we experience several dreams and throughout our life-time, we can encounter extraordinary dreams, lucid dreams, mutual dreams, healing dreams or ordinary “day residue” dreams. In this four-day retreat, [program at the bottom] the pioneer dream expert Fariba Bogzaran will instruct different types of extraordinary dreams and introduces creative methods of exploring one dream in-depth.
The integral method she has developed and used for the past thirty years includes dream incubation; dream re-entry with shamanic drumming; creative expressions (such as automatic drawing and movement) and automatic writing. The combination of these methods culminates into a poetic synthesis where the essence of the dream is revealed. She views dreams as multidimensional, therefore in this retreat, every night participants engage in dream incubation by setting personal, social or global intention.
In small groups, dreams are discussed and reflected. Expert in Lucid Dreaming (awareness in sleep), Fariba will give instructions on this practice and discusses the benefit and creative use of this state of consciousness.
Fariba Bogzaran, PhD. (East-West Psychology) founded the Dream Studies certificate program at John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley California, where she taught as an associate professor for 25 years. She is one of the pioneers in the field of lucid dreaming and was part of the team of researchers at Stanford Sleep Laboratory (1986-1989). She conducted the first research on lucid dream incubation and spiritual experiences (1989). Dr. Bogzaran, developed innovative methods of working with dreams and have taught them in graduate courses and retreats internationally for over thirty years. Among many of her publications, she co-authored two major academic books; Extraordinary Dreams (2002) and Integral Dreaming (2012) both published by State University of New York Press. She is the founding director of the Lucid Art Foundation and an adjunct professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.
